UEFA Euro 2008 from 7 to 29 of June 2008 (Schedule & Channels) Aljazeera Sports Channel Euro 2008 Website Launched
May 24th, 2008
The European leagues ended, Real Madrid crowned champions of Spain, Inter Milan became the Italian champions again, and Manchester did the double with the league and champions league. And now comes the summer, but not your usually boring eventless summer, this summer we have UEFA Euro 2008.
After few days from now Euro 2008 will kickoff with Switzerland playing Czech Republic and Portugal against Turkey. Here in the Middle East to watch the championship you will need to subscribe to Aljazeera Sports channels, Usually people try to avoid subscribing with a pay TV service and try finding alternatives on other channels on other satellites such as Hotbird, but this scenario does not seem to be happening now because the fee to subscribe to Aljazeera Sports Channels is not expensive, its around 40 US Dollars per year, this is heaven compared to other pay TV in the region.
I have discusses the situation in regard to the Orbit subscibers before, and both sides still are saying the same thing.
Aljazeera Sports has launched a new website for Euro 2008, its in Arabic and am not sure if they will launch an English version. The website provides all information needed such as news, schedules, timings, history, photo album and results.
UEFA Euro 2008 groups goes as follows:
Group A: Switzerland, Czech Republic, Portugal, Turkey
Group B: Austria, Croatia, Germany, Poland
Group C: Netherlands, Italy, Romania, France
Group D: Greece, Sweden, Spain, Russia
For the full match schedule you can go to either UEFA Euro 2008 website, or download as a PDF file or check Aljazeera Sport Channels Schedule.

I have been hearing different news about the new technical problems happening lately for the subscribers, especially those who have cams, what I know is that its a temporary technical problem that will be fixed before Euro 2008 starts.

Hi! I plan to subscribe just for the Al Jazeera Sports +1 and +2 channels via my current Du TV in Dubai. It’s just AED 9.00/month. But do u know if all the matches will be shown on AJS +1 & +2?
Also, as I’m unable to read Arabic, any idea what time the first match is being played (Dubai time GMT+4) or what time (GMT) is being used on the official Euro2008 site?
Really appreciate your advice and coverage of this! Thanks!

Thanks for all of you, Well first of all, Aljazeera 1 and 2 are different from +1 and +2, you have to pay to get those channels, and now there is +3 and +4.
The fee to subscribe to Aljazeera Sports is not high, its just 40 dollars… but if you NEED to watch it in another way you can always go to the illegal ways, such as buying a receiver that opens aljazeera on Nilesat or that opens sport channels on Hotbird.
There is an online alternative, you can download any of the P2P tv streaming applications, most of them stream sports channels.
But you would have went to those solutions if the fee to subscribe to Aljazeera was expensive, but it is actually CHEAP.
Again thanks for all of you and I will be writing a new post soon on Euro 2008

does anyone know how i can subscribe for jazeera +1 +2
i’m in kenya
20. IntheKnow | June 9th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
You can only do it through technosat in Dubai for this area (dubai) http://technosat-uae.com/downloads/Map.pdf you have to go to their showroom and pick up a card to go into your reciever. They don’t deliver and it’s in Naif area which is a pain for most of us. They are the only company who do this now I’m told; by numerous other companies.
If you go down feel free to pick me up a card too
